Things to do at Camp
COPE Course Available at Babcock-Hovey: Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience. Project COPE is a series of activities that includes 30 initiative games, 12 low course elements and 4 high course elements. The high course features a 50-foot climbing wall with rappel and a 360-foot zip line. The course is not a fitness course, nor is it a timed event. Make a request for a reservation by completing a COPE Reservation Request Form at least (30) thirty days in advance, you must realize we do not have a stand by team available at a moments notice.

Campmaster Corps: Campmaster's Schedule A group of selected registered Scouter who volunteer to serve and sometimes present a program of expertise to groups camping at Babcock-Hovey.
Nature Trails: There are 3 trails at Babcock-Hovey. Owl, Beaver, & Turtle Trails
The Finger Lakes Council is blessed with many dedicated volunteer leaders that keep the camp's infrastructure in good shape. A list of projects has been developed that a unit can adopt/commit to. Attend Beaver Days: Do your part to help with the upkeep of camp. Beaver Day is generally scheduled for 2 Saturdays in June and 1 Saturday in October. There is great fellowship and a hearty meal, which leaves you with a good feeling that you helped this camp continue to provide a quality facility for our youth. During the Spring Beaver Days your work crew can camp for free, plus youth will earn Hovey Bucks to spend at the camp T-post during summer camp.
Properties Committee Talent Survey - Please consider adding your name and talents to our resource list. We will try our best to match you with your talents on Beaver Days and for projects as they come up. This way, we can use your valuable skills to build “sweat equity” in our beautiful Camp Babcock-Hovey, our council, and Scouting! This keeps Scouting and camping affordable for all
Please note: If paperwork and money is not received in a timely manner as stated above, you may loose your spot to another unit's request. Cancellations need to be phoned into the Camp Ranger (607) 869-3841 or the Council Office (315) 789-1166 2 weeks before your confirmed camp date, to receive full refund.
