About the SciTek Quest Camp
The Finger Lakes Council, Boy Scouts of America, presents the SciTek Quest Camp, a science and technology program. This program was developed for boys and girls, ages 14 to 18, who want to have an enjoyable experience in the outdoors and learn about engineering, aerospace and the environment by taking part in exciting, fun filled, hands-on activities and informative field trips. Please review the “What you can do!” section for a description of the program activities.
The camp will be held at Camp Babcock-Hovey in Ovid, NY, which is on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake. This year's camp will be held from Sunday, July 27 - Friday, August 1, 2008. For insurance purposes, each participant will become a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America as a Venturer. While at camp, you will sleep in our newly constructed Science & Technology Building with all the comforts of home and be supervised and advised by trained professionals to ensure that you have a fun and safe experience. All meals will be served family style in our dining hall and parents are invited to attend our famous chicken BBQ on Friday evening. Tickets for the BBQ should be purchased on Sunday when you arrive.
While the science and technology program will keep you busy, if desired you will also have time to take part in the other camp programs such as the swimming pool, lake front (Sailing & Canoeing), ropes course and hiking programs. Or you can kick back and relax with new friends and maybe toss the Frisbee around. Come and join us and bring a friend.
